Malcom Gladwell ranks high on my bucket list of dinner guests. You know when someone asks you what 5 people you would want to invite to dinner? Depending upon my mood, he usually ranks in my top 3. There are fewer things more pleasing to me than data, and I consider Gladwell to be a skilled weaver of data. Research plus a well crafted story and I just never want it to end. Gladwell books are my porn.
His podcast Revisionist History just started its 6th season in June. As in all other seasons of the podcast, Gladwell tackles topics from new and illuminating perspectives, leaving the listener with just as many questions as answers.
A highlight is the 3 episode series on themes in Disney's The Little Mermaid. No spoiler alerts here, you'll just have to listen.
If you are new to the podcast, I encourage you to start form the very beginning. His series on education in season 1 starts with episode 4 and is a must listen. I still carry those stories with me. They surface during quiet moments when my mind can visit favorite corners to savor questions and theory.
If there was a non psychedelic tonic that promised to expand the mind, Revisionist History would be it.
Give a listen and let me know what you think.
