Three facts about butterflies and moths:

1. Moths are nocturnal. Butterflies are diurnal.

2. Moth antennae feather out toward the ends, looking like jagged teeth. Butterfly antennae are long and flat with a bulb shape at the end.

3. Butterflies are colorful on the top but the underside of their wings are dull to help camouflage them during rest. Moths are patterned on both sides equally in color and pattern.
