1. Well friends, its been a year. A lot has changed, a lot hasn't. When I look back on this project there has been an unimaginable amount that I have learned. Mostly, this daily practice, having a daily practice, has provided me with a sort of settling in, during what has been a particularly challenging and difficult year. Many moments I've shared with you, others I haven't, but know this, you have been witness to many changes over this past year. For me, you, and all of us. Some changes have been welcome and made willingly. Other changes I/we have fought with every single grain of our bodies. Nonetheless, I've jumped when I've been able to, fallen when necessary, and learned to bend with incredible flexibility. I think the biggest lesson I've taken away, is to just be soft. To relish in the softness that is and always will be the gift of the human condition.
2. Outside of learning more than I expected about myself, I also learned a lot about all of you. I have endless gratitude for all of you who joined me at the end of the day to read my thoughts, think of your own lessons learned, and share them with all of us here. I have gained a lot of hope from this project, so much so that I have decided not to stop. Having THESE 3 THINGS as a daily practice has changed the whole trajectory of my day. Knowing that despite what might be going on around me, what I choose to celebrate and what I choose to resist, I can always make the choice to learn from both the good and the bad. This is the attitude I wanted to reflect to my daughter when I began this project. That no matter what, the day can end with a grain of hope. Thanks for sharing the hope with me over these past 365 days.
3. Moving forward. Like I said, I am continuing this daily project. I hope those of you who have been participating will do so too. I will continue to be posting nightly, like I have always done on both my blog and over on Instagram. I will be taking a few weeks to organize the next steps of this project, and during that time will post some of my beginning entries for those who have joined in more recently. I'll be working on creating a THESE 3 THINGS Podcast, some writing projects, and some more photography. All these projects will take time, but I am so excited to branch out! Here's where you come in...share this project with friends, people you think might enjoy following along. I'm asking you to help spread the word, let's make THESE 3 THINGS a movement!! I am so excited to branch out and move forward together.
