1. Remind yourself why you made the tough choices. As my daughter finished her last day of Kindergarten today, I couldn't help but think how the year went by like a flash. I feel like I was just dropping her off for her first day. With time passing more quickly than I can take, I took a moment to remind myself why I chose this crazy life. Running my own business, and doing it entirely around the schedule of a 6 year old. It's been like that from the beginning, and it's been nearly impossible at times. I've thought about calling it quits about a million times in the past 7 years. It's been hard and every time I think it is getting easier it gets equally hard in different ways. But, I haven't missed a thing. I've been to every performance, every school function, every single drop off and pick up, every appointment, play date, and spontaneous adventure. I've done so at times with my hair practically on fire trying to figure out how to make it all work, but somehow it has. Switching careers during pregnancy is not a business plan. It's insane. I wouldn't recommend it. But it's a choice I made to do things a little differently. I jumped and fell all at the same time. I still feel in a free fall but today I was really glad to be falling at a furious speed with the wind rushing past my face.
