It seems fitting as one project comes to a close, another is celebrating a birth. As #the100daystayathomeproject concludes, the THESE THREE THINGS Project is nearing its 4 year mark. This project has never been hard, or a burden, and maybe that’s because I haven’t been doing it for anyone else. I never cared if it “took off” or was successful, had a following, or was even paid much attention to. It’s been for me, from the beginning and while I’m so honored that this practice has created a worldwide community, I never set out with that goal in mind. I love that my own commitment to this practice along with others has been organic and authentic. It’s become like breathing. Here for us whether or not we acknowledge its inner workings. I knew I needed to begin to think about the past 4 years a week or so before the milestone. It’s been a big 4 years. Both for me personally, but also for all of us. A time of firsts and newness both in celebration and in loss that I don’t think any of us saw coming. Lots and lots of grief. Which ironically teaches us best about love, being loved, and how to love. Incredible that the emotion we can control the least is probably the most significant. I’ll be thinking more about the life of this project, where it’s been and where it’s headed. There will be some forthcoming announcements as we near year 4. But for now, I find hope in the smallest thing making the biggest difference.
