1. Every once in a while it would be nice to not be so surprised by how convicted people are in their ignorance.

2. I think it all might be about listening. Listening is hard. To listen, really listen, with engagement and depth is a practice. And a challenging one. Whether we are listening to friends, family, a stranger, or our own bodies, it requires a stillness that is hard to manifest. I thought of this Kierkegaard quote today:

A man prayed and at first, he thought that prayer was talking. But he became more and more quiet until, in the end, he realized that prayer is listening.

3. A full grown redwood tree trunk can have a diameter of 20 feet. Nature wins.
