1. The six word memoir. Rumor has it, novelist Ernest Hemingway was asked to write an entire story using only six words. He wrote: "For Sale: baby shoes, never worn." The six word memoir has become a popular exercise for writers and artists alike. Here's my first stab at the practice.

First say yes, then panic later.

2. There is no going backwards. Even if it seems like you are revisiting a place you have already been, you are now there with all that you currently bring, which is very different than before. Sometimes in order to move forward we must first go back.

3. Grief never really goes away. We just get better at living with it.
