This is my original Rolling Stone Magazine from June 2, 1994. I have a connection with Kurt Cobain that I've never been able to fully explain. I thought about him often when working with kids as a psychotherapist. I think he reminds me how we can never really know what is going on under the surface. Things are hard right now. There is no denying that. It would be weird if all of us didn't feel the impact in some way, shape or form. If you are feeling overwhelmed, talk to someone. I can say from my own experience in the field that there are a ton of wonderfully trained, caring, professionals out there who really want to talk to you. Hearing about you and your thoughts and struggles, is their life's work. For real. Out of all the things there are to pursue in this life, they have chosen to listen. If you don't know where to turn here are some places to start. Also, you don't need to be in active crisis to call or text a helpline. For real.
