To be honest, I'm not sure what I think of measurement these days. Time is existing now in ways that seem unfamiliar. How we measure ourselves. Successes. Failures. Perhaps we are at the precipice of a new beginning. One that abides by a different set of measurements.

This ruler belonged to my grandfather, then my father, now me. It sits on my desk and I use it almost everyday. I like using objects that have history. I’m not sure how much it matters if the history is my own. There is something safe and settling about an object that can withstand generations of time. Perhaps precisely because we cannot.
