I think it’s safe to say that I’ve never done so much laundry. I’m amazed at how many towels, blankets, and socks three people can go through in a single day while staying in one place.

Before the shelter in place for California, my laundry consisted mostly of hand dyed cord for Zelma Rose and far fewer socks. I’m not sure if and when I will get back to full capacity with my business. It’s strange to think about. It could take years to get back to where I was, which seems exhausting. I can’t fully hold all my grief for building something from scratch for nearly a decade and now relinquishing control to a fucking virus. I try not to think about the specifics too much. My job right now as an artist is to create and worry less about where it leads. Just keep writing. Just keep taking photos. Just keep having conversations. Just keep going.
